Reconversion beats rebuild
When we performed the energy audit, the verdict was clear: Site 3, also known as the packing area (or the place where you pick up your new toys ?) had to go. For our production team, that meant one of the toughest challenges so far: producing 30% more than ever before in a hall that was 30% smaller. Let’s say it was… cosy. But now, looking at the result, we can only say: totally worth it.
During the summer holidays we finally moved into the new building and it came with some serious upgrades.
Smarter energy use
The new roof is fully covered with solar panels, some reused and some brand-new. The renewable energy they produce, combined with purchased green electricity from windmills in the North Sea when needed, makes our new hall 100% energy-neutral. Even the heat generated by compressors, energy that used to get lost is now captured and reused thanks to smart ventilation. During colder periods, we keep the heat inside. That’s what we call closing the loop.
For our customers, this means every product coming out of our factory now carries an even smaller footprint, helping you reach your own sustainability targets.
A better place to pack
Circumatrix isn’t only about energy, it is also about people. With Phase 2, we created more space, more structure and more comfort for our beManiacs. Packaging and production now have their own dedicated areas. Natural daylight strips and automated LED lighting lower energy use while creating a healthier, brighter workspace. Floor heating keeps the hall warm in a more energy-efficient way, but let’s be honest: it just feels good too.
We also looked up, literally. 12-meter-high racks are being installed, paired with a brand-new reach truck with extra safety features. Smarter, safer and ready for growth. For our customers this translates into:
- More stock capacity → even shorter lead times, faster deliveries.
- More structure in logistics → even fewer errors, smoother packing.
- Safer handling → your frames and accessories are managed with extra care.
What’s next?
Phase 3 is all about the reconversion of our remaining production hall and offices. The hall is still structurally in great shape, so again: no demolition. Instead, we’re upgrading it: extra roof insulation, a stronger building envelope and a full switch from gas to biofields and heat pumps.
Once Phase 3 is complete, the entire Circumatrix site will reflect our vision of sustainability and innovation.
At bematrix, we believe building the future doesn’t always mean starting from scratch. With Circumatrix, we’re proving that reconversion, creativity and circular thinking can turn yesterday’s hall into tomorrow’s benchmark for sustainable production.
And is Phase 3 the final chapter? Let’s just say… we have a very special Phase 4 in the works. Stay tuned to be the first to know!
